Wouldn’t this be something our mums may have worn back in the Swingin’ Sixties? This piece was purchased in Europe, but we suspect it must have been shipped from Asia in the past. Either that or a lovely European lady snapped this up on one of her travels to Asia in the 1960s!
Anyhoo, this is an awesome dress, really. A mega hippie sunburst design takes centre stage in a beautiful mix of purples and browns. Birds – or turtles? – are scattered separately everywhere around. It is so carefully cut that a special pattern trails round right where the hem of the dress and sleeves end. It’s simply marvellous, and the batik work is amazing!
It’s a size M, and a little longer as is the case with such 1960s dresses, and in this instance, we wouldn’t recommend chopping the hem off. So, all you taller girls out there – we’re hollering at ya!

PRETTY 1970S VINTAGE DAY DRESS: Here’s one for all you ladies to wear on a lovely weekend! This sleeveless French dress (Size: M) from Paris is simple enough to take out to town, picnic or brunch. The print – hundreds of tiny flowers trail and flutter in split levels – are they rising or are they falling?
Here, we match it with a thick elastic green belt and lovely beads from the 1970s.

VINTAGE CROWN TRIFARI STARBURST NECKLACE: Thank our lucky stars for jewelry company Trifari, which has given us quality vintage jewelry to hanker after!
The star burst is a motif often seen with the label’s vintage designs. Each star ray is different in length and thickness, with layers stacked against one another, alternating between a textured matt surface and a smooth shiny one. It is made with silvertone metal, and has a certain boldness to it, reminiscent of mid-century Modernism.
The back has the Crown Trifari mark. Excellent condition, looks almost brand new.
Our lovely friend Huda shows off a 1980s halter dress with a beautiful leafy print in shades of purple, blues and splashes of yellow. As if it isn’t pretty enough, it’s got a little bow in the same fabric on the decolletage. Size: M/LOur gal looks great in it, so will you!
