Writer Judith Miller discusses this interesting question.

“…(underpinning) this upsurge in popularity of both collecting and wearing vintage costume jewellery is a growing appreciation that you can buy into exceptional craftsmanship and very stylish, often highly innovative design for substantially less than you can with precious jewellery. In fact, I’ll go out on a bit of a limb here and suggest that more often than not you find far more interesting designs in costume jewellery than you do with the precious equivalent.”

Check out the article also for a little more about the epic collaboration between Frenchman Alfred Philippe and Trifari, to which the costume jewellery brand owes much of its success to.

Keepin’ it simple and stripey! This oversized boho top is from the 1960s – can’t you see hippies rocking this at Woodstock?
Wear this with a pair of light boyfriend jeans maybe, or even as a dress for petite ladies.

Lovely skirt with a patchwork-like pattern that’s dotted with leaves of all kinds. Great for a picnic on the weekends!

This skirt looks like it has little pieces of wrapped chocolate all over it hehe. You can’t quite see it in the photo, but the front of the skirt has two slits. It’ll no doubt flow beautifully as you put your best foot forward wearing this one! Pair it with a simple cream coloured top for a cute look.

We’re sure you’ve seen the tropical print around a lot lately, even on our Facebook page. Here’s more of this season’s hottest trend, in comfy rompers that will definitely keep you cool in the tropical heat. (Pun unintended.)

MIDNIGHT EXPLORER
A tropical print on the darker side. The bright colours of the leaves really pop against the pitch black, making this halter a true stunner – especially with that sexy cross-back!

PURPLE EXPLOSION
Here’s the tropical print in a vibrant collision of colours. A simple short-sleeved romper, with cute little wooden buttons down the front.

Hot on trend!

A bold and vibrant colour – would you be able to pull it off? Don’t be afraid to give it a go, and take your pick from these ridiculously gorgeous pieces. We’re sure you’ll find something that suits your style, be it classy and elegant, fun and flirty, or cute and preppy.

Midi skirts are so on trend right now. Go ahead and jump into the trend, but be sure to stand out from the crowd with a one of a kind, vintage piece – and you can be especially assured to do so with the bold and beautiful red roses on this skirt. Such a classy piece.

Red hot summer dress, with the most adorable print and buttons! Psst, it also has lace-up detail on the back.

Adorable, preppy 1960s dress! Loving all the details, from the peter pan collar, statement (but not overly exaggerating) bow, quirky and oddly-shaped sewn-on buttons, and slightly ballooned sleeves. Made from a unique fabric that’s a mix of grey and red.
