IT WAS grey, rainy and miserable.

We were going to get wet anyway. It was an underwater shoot, after all. But the overcast sky took away the light, and made it freezing cold!

For this month’s photo shoot, we took the plunge.

Into a swimming pool we went, with a gorgeous 16-year-old model Olivia Price, and an ace photographer Vernon Leow.

The theme was Hawaiian – bright, sunny, cheery tropical wear that looks right in our hot climate!

The model sank perfectly. The photographer did not. Someone had to hold him underwater.

It was surreal. Olivia looked like a water nymph, all dream-like with her beautiful red lips and intense gaze.

She kept her eyes steadily open underwater, unblinking. Her hair floated beautifully around her.

It was like a mannequin had sunk to the depths of the pool!

Amazing. Plus it was the most fun we had in a long time!

THIS BEAUTIFUL set of matching luggage was a joy to travel with, and is still a delightful sight to behold!

And look what we found – an image of an American Tourister Tri Taper advertisement from the 1950s, complete with loving well-dressed couple on Aladdin’s magic flying carpet as their preferred mode of transport.

Awesome.

DO YOU favour bold strokes? Or wispy thin lines?

This month, we walk the line with stripes, stripes, and more stripes.

A perennial favourite with everyone, stripes are no fuss, night or day. Some stripes are graphic and striking, others seem pale and shrinking.

Our model for this month’s shoot is Lucie Hanon – fresh from Paris! – whom we picked for her pared-down beauty.

Unadorned, with little or no accessories, Lucie earned her stripes by adding a certain je ne sais quoi to the photoshoot. The clothing, we paired with – what else? – super duper cool French Feiyue sneakers!

It was perfect in keeping with the casualness of it all.

And oh yeah, we shot everything in a stairwell.

That said, we have loads of fabulous pieces in the store which we did not manage to include in the photoshoot. Too hot, and too little time!
