This month, Granny’s Day Out takes the secretarial look to a new level: High necks and bows. Hems that hover around the knees. Printed blouses, gathered skirts, quirky prints. Dooney and Bourke leather sling bags.

Plus – a focus on the oft-overlooked and severely underrated brooch!

With a little imagination, a brooch (or two), can be a gal’s best pal.

Pin it anywhere you like – on your collar, or the back of it; on your shirt cuffs – it’s a feminine take on cuff links; in unexpected places – such as your ponytail!

Our model, Linda Lim, is cute, geeky, and perfect for this shoot with her signature thick black-framed glasses.

We think she looks the very antithesis of cool, and so we brought her to Bras Basah complex, which seems also the antithesis of cool!

This mecca for book lovers, artists and musicians seems to have been around forever. And there, we chanced upon an old stationery shop, an unbelievable find overrun with vintage wooden rulers, pencils, and journals yellowed with age.

A hidden gem. Just like us. 🙂

Vintage Heaven: Did these treasures fall out of the sky?

NO. THEY didn’t! Although you would be forgiven if you thought so.

So how is it that we have new vintage arrivals all the time, every week? It’s because we make two to three major buying trips a year, sourcing our a** off for these vintage goodies! We travel the world, carefully selecting choice vintage pieces using our very, very discerning eyes.

And when the job is done, we ship it all back to Singapore, where you can enjoy it, touch it, try it, see it with your own eyes.

All the clothing is one-off, as it’s vintage, unique. They can thus be altered to fit.

So come down and try on that piece you’re eying before someone else snaps it up first and you never see it again for the rest of your life. -.-
