Elegant 1960’s paisley print dress

The pretty paisley print is back in trend this year, but we at Granny’s Day Out have always been loving this timeless print, and mind you, it’s not just for hippies!

Of an ancient eastern design, the paisley print was imported into Europe during the 17th Century, and was used mainly on wool and cashmere shawls. The name “paisley” was actually named after an industrial town in Scotland which became famous for producing it. It rose to popularity in the 60’s, and was embraced by the hippie culture, probably due to its slightly psychedelic design.

We present to you today, a lovely, hard to find, mad men era dress featuring the charming paisley print in shades of blue and grey, a lovely roll collar, and an accordion pleated skirt. Timeless, elegant, sophisticated – need we say more? 🙂
